PICT Project
To address this common need in an environment of diversity of interest,
PICT has conceived the project of setting up an <<Innovations
Laboratory>> that acts as a ‘think tank’,
where individuals, education institutions & business enterprises
come together to incubate innovative systems, technologies, products
and projects that can make significant improvements in the change
potential of their stakeholders.
PICT’s hugely successful << Innovation Initiatives
>> program, that has received over 500 innovative projects
from all over the country, is being used as the launching pad to
bring together major business enterprises, consultancies, educational
and R&D institutions to give concrete shape to this on-going
development.
The <<Innovations Lab>> will use IT
as the principal tool to move our systems up this value chain by
Identifying and selecting, to begin
with, a batch of about 20 << top performing >> students, to
start with from PICT's Computer Engineering, Electronics + Telecom
Engineering & IT departments, providing them facilities & infrastructure
to conduct industry-oriented R&D and catalyzing their creative
and productive knowledge & skills in developing innovative NEW
services, NEW technologies or NEW products.
Enabling << teachers>> of edu-institutions
and << trainers & Capacity-builders >> of Services & Business
enterprises to develop, test and use more effective Teaching-Learning
Systems, Training Modules, Capacity Building Modules, Continuing
Education systems, New Programs & Courses & New Services & Products
etc that render their learning-training systems more effective
& impactful .
