ABOUT DEPARTMENT
 
This department is the Post Graduate Wing of the Computer Engineering Department at P.I.C.T. It has been pioneered as the first Post Graduate Department in Computer Engineering in the unaided Engineering Colleges in the Pune University.For almost 13 years after the first batch of B.E.Computer Engineering passed out of P.I.C.T. no facility for post graduation existed for Computer Engineering graduates in the non-aided sector.This void was filled by our course after persistent efforts in that direction by our Computer Engineering Department.

Besides Open Category students almost all the Engineering Colleges under Pune University have sponsored their staff for Post Graduate Education in P.I.C.T. The objective of startingthe department is to enable Computer Engineering students to pursue their Post Graduate studies in India rather than opt for career abroad. A habit of research and project work is inculcated in the students who are prepared for greater professional excellence in the currently relevant field of specialization

The first batch of M.E. was inducted in August 2000. All of our pass outs have been placed in Industry.

The sanctioned strength is 25 with 15 Open ,5 Sponsored and remaining 5 seats for SC/ST candidates.

M.E. students have a separate laboratory equipped with latest Pentium Computers and all the necessary software. They have access to the Local LAN as well as the Internet in their laboratory. They can make use of the PICT library including the Digital Library at PICT . Besides text books we have procured in the library a number of reference books for use of M.E. students. Several International Journals are available for reference of the students and researchers.

The Faculty consists of Head of the Department , Senior Professors and four visiting Faculty. Visiting Faculty consists of experienced and qualified persons who are either staff at other Departments in the College or from outside.
