Learning Systems

PICT's Learning System includes class-room teaching and supervised laboratory and workshop experiments during which students carry out practical work using a wide range of engineering and IT hardware and software.

Special tutorials and assignments support the class-room learning and laboratory experimentation processes.

Work on projects includes conception, development, experimentation, problem identification and solution, design and testing.

Learning Processes

PICT has mapped and prepared comprehensive Process Flow Diagrams for this Learning System. Each Process Flow Diagram shows
  • Inputs & outputs at each activity.
  • Number & designation of individuals performing the activity.
  • Time taken for each activity.
  • Information generated at each activity.
  • Product of the process.

Process Activity Charts

Separately, each activity in every process is delineated in one specific Process Activity Chart under the following parameters:

  • Objective of the activity.
  • Responsibility for the activity.
  • Inputs
  • Outputs
  • Resources
  • Time-frame for the activity
  • Reporting
  • Indicator to measure the performance of the activity
  • Performance measurement & monitoring
  • Control
  • Verification & validation
This Process Approach to Learning Systems permits each activity in each process to be monitored, assessed and improved so as to enable PICT to remain fully aligned to the changing needs of its customers.

PICT is simultaneously developing in-house e-Learning Packages that will be used extensively in our own classroom teaching-learning processes. We continually develop & deploy Learning Modules that improve our institutional and individual performance and practices.
